It’s beginning to look a lot like the Holidays. Let’s face it, the holidays seem to appear earlier every year. They also have the uncanny knack of showing up when we are at our busiest. We have holiday gatherings and parties. We have places to go with the kids. Presents that need to be bought. So many things that just have to be done.
Wouldn’t it be nice to have creative ideas delivered to your inbox? 12 days full of great holiday help. These ideas will cover gift giving, decorating and card making. They will be packed full of inspiring ideas. Just when you need the inspiration and the ease of great projects I’m available to you, ready to help you though the busiest time of the year.
The holidays are a time of sparkle and wonder. Handmade gifts and decorating add to that in a way that is uniquely your own. Having inspiration for great projects, that are simple and easy to do, can be a jumping off point that will spark your creativity. Adding that little bit of your own personal touches to decoration, cards and gifts really does show that you care enough to go that extra step.

It’s here! Seems we wait all year for the holidays and when they finally arrive, we are shocked at how quickly they got here. Well it’s November. It is time to put on the Thanksgiving meal. It is time to buy the presents. It’s time to get those Holiday greeting cards out in the mail.
As a busy generation, many of us thrive on the last minute. We have so much to do that it seems we are always waiting until we seem to have no time at all. It is part of the culture of the busy woman.
We all have those gifts we need at the last minute. It doesn’t mean we forgot, we just might have had the unexpected guest. The invitation to dinner, we weren’t expecting. It’s the holidays, things happen. What we need are ideas of things that we can have on hand. Quick and easy, but still have the holiday sparkle. Making these ourselves also shows even if it is a small gift, they still deserve something special this holiday season.
One quick and easy gift is Décor Blocks. I can order these for you or you can order them online at my store, along with all the supplies you will need. These MDF boxes, which are all ready to cover and decorate, would look wonderful covered with Designer Series Paper, stamped, glittered, wrapped in ribbon or even a combination of all the ideas. They are a great go to gift to have on hand.
Another great idea to have on hand is decorated bags. These would be wonderful to fill with cookies, handmade goodies or even store bought. Everything looks fabulous in a fabulous container. Whether you use a White Gift Bags or our Cellophane Bags, you can decorate them with stencils, Décor Elements™, rub-ons and stamps. Add tissue paper, cookies and tie up with ¾” Polka-Dot Grosgrain Ribbon and you have a gift that really says that you care. You can add things that aren’t baked goods as well. These wonderfully decorated bags could be filled with anything that you have in your gift storage. You could even pack them full of the supplies that you used to make the bag. If you stamped the bag to decorate it, include a new stamp and ribbon that you used. Who would love a decorated bag full of treats they can use for their last minute gifts?
Then there are some great Treat Boxes that Stampin’ Up has to offer. These boxes are made with heavyweight card stock. They are sturdier than a gift bag. They even come in a pretty color so you don’t have to do a thing to them to be able to use them. You can have fun with decorating them though. You can dress them up with tags and ribbons. Use all those pretty embellishments to make this treat box special. It even has a cut out handle. Then you can fill the inside with great little gifts. Things such as lotions, lip balms, all those little items you may have on hand for just that occasion.
Just because the gift you are giving is last minute, doesn’t mean it is not special. It doesn’t mean that it doesn’t have to have the sparkle of the season. Have a few of these ideas set aside for just that moment that you need them. Contact me for more ideas and questions or visit my store which is open 24/7. There are so many ways to get creative with your stamps and scrapbook supplies this holiday season!
As you can see the theme for this month is getting ready for the holidays with gift bags and tags. We need these all the time. Why not make them now and get a wrap on the holidays with these rich-looking, yet inexpensive, packages.
Using Big Shot die cuts and designer series paper make these packaging super fast and festive to create in quantities for goodie bags and can be customized to many color themes! Items used in the projects: On Your Birthday Stamp Set, Treat Box, Big Bold Cupcakes Sizzlits 4-pack dies, Ink & Card Stock: Bermuda Bay Patterns Designer Series Paper, Chocolate Chip Classic Ink, Bermuda Bay 1/2” Polka-Dot Grosgrain Ribbon, Crimper.
Here’s the Christmas Version:

When I opened the new Holiday Mini Catalog I was immediately drawn to the ornament collection on pages 24-25. Stampin’ Up! has made the ornament icon fashionable and fun again and the stamp set is available in 3 different languages: English, French and Spanish.
Need a holiday tag in a hurry? Apply a rub-on image from the Merry & Bright Rub-Ons to a piece of card stock, punch it out with the Ornament punch, and tie it to a gift with a bit of linen thread.

I attended the yearly Stampin’ Up! convention 2009 in Salt Lake City in early August. There are many reason I enjoy going to the convention. One of them is all the project ideas. Stampin’ Up! posts boards with projects to inspire us to try new things. These pictures are from art boards posted under really bright lights so some of the pictures maybe a bit blurry – sorry. I learn so much from reviewing the project boards that I would like to share some of those ideas with you. I’ll be posting a project idea once a day for the next few weeks. Enjoy!
I love stamp sets that match a punch. This stamp set actually goes with two punches, the Scallop Circle Punch (#109043) and the Wide Oval Punch (#112082). You can make so many fabulous projects going two of my favorite things…stamping and punching!
This sour cream template has always been a favorite of mine as well. You can make the container any size you want. It is easy to get 4 containers out of one sheet of 8.5×11 card stock. Wonderful to use with Designer Series Paper. Great idea for Halloween Parties. I can also see adding some of those small cookies inside and then treating your co-worker to a coffee and this cute little container. She will think you are an angel.

I think this picture speaks for itself. Isn’t it wonderful. The artist used the Gel Pen to create the accents. This could be a card or you could make it in to a house for decorations. I thought I could use the same template for my birdhouse project. The lollipops are punched circles but I think you could also use the scallop punch if you wanted. For the roof, the artist used the Scallop Edge Punch (#112091) but I was thinking the Eyelet Border Punch (#113692) would be cute as well.

I saw this stamp set and I thought of all the great uses for it. It’s going to be hard to decide on which project I want to do first. If you plan to make any home made goodies to share with co-workers, potlucks, family member treats, good neighbor gifts, this is the stamp set for you.

I already talked about some great use for this project on a previos post. I just wanted to show you an example in a holiday theme. You can use the same card template over and over again. Why not make several to have ready.
Sizzix and Stampin’ Up!, two leaders in the crafting industry, have joined forces to bring you even more irresistible products! You can add a whole new dimension to your projects with the pop up dies for the Big Shot. Join Donna Griffith as she demonstrates how to create our pop up cake.

My Inspiration Club Members have made a box by simply die cutting 4 of the Scallop Envelope Bigz Die (#113462) and then chaining them together to make a square box like this. The box is great for Easter baskets, bathroom products, office supplies, you name it. Let me know if you need more details. This box is made with only two scallop envelopes and then simply cut the sides to fit. How cool is that? Great for any gift box filled with candy or home made peanut brittle. See my previous post on the exclusive Scallop Envelope Die for the Sizzix Machine.
Stampin’ Up! has partnered with Build-A-Bear Workshop® to produce the first-ever paper-crafting products featuring the Build-A-Bear Workshop brand. These exclusively designed products are available starting September 1st and include stamp sets, Designer Series papers, and Sizzix dies. This selection provides young and young-at-heart Build-A-Bear Workshop enthusiasts endless hand-crafted possibilities for scrapbook pages, cards, invitations, home décor, and more.
With the new Build-A-Bear Workshop collection, would-be party planners can create the perfect blend of customization and personalization with any paper crafts projects they create, especially birthday ensembles for the little ones. I would love to show you and other do-it-yourself party planners how easy it is to create unique birthday ensembles using paper-crafting supplies. Projects are easy enough that even children can help assemble the decorations and invitations together as a family in one evening.
This is a great partnership that will provide unlimited opportunities for creativity. Just think of the hours you can spend playing with your grandchildren, making all kinds of Build-A-Bear creations. Do you remember paper dolls? Jill Kocherhans, from the Stampin’ Up! home office, created the most adorable version of paper dolls I have ever seen. I have a link to the graphic below.

Let’s talk a little bit about making Christmas cards. Althought I love this card because of the stamp set (Tree Trimming #116722) it uses, the use of textured card stock (#115538), the color scheme (Dusty Durango & Crushed Cury) and the beautiful greeting (Many Merry Message #116586), that’s not the idea I want to highlight. It’s the ribbon. WOW! I saw this card and I was immediately drawn to the ribbon. Dress up all of your projects with this beautiful, high-quality ribbon. Whether it be a bow around a gift box, to hang a handmade ornament, accent a home decor decoration or to dress up a card, it add a WOW effect.

Now I would like to show you how you can use the same stamp set to create one-of-a-kind gift boxes. Take a look at my last posts for more ideas using the frilly girl stamp Things I Love (115229). Both of these gift boxes would make wonderful Valentine’s Day quick gifts. But change up the colors and stamp set and you have inexpensive Christmas gifts, wedding favors, and surprise gifts. With the cost of everything going up, up, up, these dies and the Big Shot are a great investment. Grab your Big Shot Sizzix machine and start making these gifts in no time.

This is another card sample of using the Things I Love (#115229) stamp set. Please visit my last 3 posts for more ideas. What I like about this project is the use of the Stampin’ Up! Scallop Square Punch. The punch accent allow you to take a simple to create card and make it pop with little effort. Punches are a quick and easy way to add interest, dimension, and color to your cards, tags, and scrapbook pages. We have a number of other punches you can use to layer with. The Scallop Square punch coordinates with several stamp sets including Four Square. If you have a Sizzix machine, we also have a big brother die to our punch with our 4-3/8″ x 4-3/8″ scalloped square with our exclusive Scallop Square Clear Bigz Die (#115950)

I’m on a roll here with the Things I Love (#115229) Stamp Set. Take a look at the last couple of days of project ideas. The new idea I got from this card was the machine stitching and the clever use of the Exclusive Stampin’ Up! Top Note Bigz Die for Sizzix. This is another die I purchased as soon as Stampin’ Up! released it. It’s so darn versatile, well work the cost. You can die cut at least two of the top notes at one time. You can use the Top Note die to create cellophane bag toppers from any piece of card stock or Designer Series paper. Simply cut image using the die, stamp or embellish it, and fold it over the top of a cellophane bag (fold in half lengthwise for medium bags and widthwise for small bags). Voila! You’ve made a custom bag topper in no time! As you can see here, they also make excellent card embellishments.

I’ve been in love with the Stampin’ Up! exclusive Scallop Envelop Bigz Die for Sizzix since it was released. You can use the Scallop Envelope die to create custom envelopes from any piece of card stock or Designer Series paper. You can also create wonderful boxes which we have done with the Inspiration Club before. Scallop Envelope die cuts also make adorable memorabilia pockets on scrapbook pages. I’m a big fan of die cuts as they make any project seem incredible with little work on my part. Yes, I’m a bit lazy. If you are one to give gift cards away for gifts, this is the perfect project for you. It makes a simple to purchase gift card, more personal.

When was the last time you created a scrapbook page about you? The “Things I Love” stamp set makes it so easy. The main loves of any woman’s life are simple: shopping, new shoes, and chocolate! I see this stamp set on cards all the time but it is really well suited for prompting a scrapbook page where you can write about what you love or who you love. Give it a try.

I’ve made boxes to contain my wedding gifts and they are a HUGE hit. Just imagine a table full of wedding gifts with store bought paper and next to all of them…a handmade box. I normally match the box to the colors of the wedding so I’ve been told from the brides that my boxes are kept to contain important wedding memorabilia. What an honor!
I have also made cards with the Three Tier Cake Pop-Up Bigz Xl for the Sizzix Machine (#116760). But I never thought of using them together. Isn’t this project impressive? Can’t wait for the next wedding.

Anything to do with calendars or office and I’m in love with the idea. Here is a calendar book. This can be used on a daily basis for day-to-day activities or a birthday calendar or a mother’s calendar where she can record her new babies activities. Wouldn’t this make an impressive and thoughtful baby shower gift. It’s one of a kind and made from the heart.
Customize your home décor by stamping walls, fabrics, and other furnishings to give them an entirely new look. You’ll love how easy it is to create hand-stamped, framed art and custom home accents for any season or occasion.
