Chalkboard technique

Posted by craftyperson on May 23, 2009

What about this sample.  Yummy x2. I used the Chalkboard technique.
For this technique. Use Craft Whisper White ink to wheel across the 2” x 5 ½” Night of Navy card stock. While ink is wet dab Chocolate Chip, More Mustard and Mellow Moss pastels in sections using Sponge Daubers. Use a Stamping Sponge to wipe off excess pastel powder.

    Debbie,

I’m confused about the Chalkboard technique. Are you daubbing the pastels onto the Stampin’ wheel before rolling onto the paper? I love the look and want to try it soon.

Thanks for sending such interesting ideas!

    • Hey Linda. I rolled on the white craft ink on the paper first so it’s completely white (which is also a good look by the way!). Then went back and dabbed the chalk on the white ink on the paper. Similar how you would roll VersaMark on the paper and then go back and dab the chalk on the paper and VersaMark later. The white craft ink and Versamark are the glue that keeps the chalk on the paper. The white craft ink just give it a little lighter of a color.
